A little of this and a little of that (with a splash of Diet Dr. Pepper on the floor)

I'm a little short on time this morning, but I wanted to put up a quick post.

Ally had to go back to the doctor on Tuesday morning so they could recheck her lungs after a third round of antibiotics. Unfortunately, she still has a lot of inflammation and audible crackling and wheezing. We are taking a break from antibiotics to give her stomach a rest, but they have her on a HUGE round of Prednisone (the 4th in 6 weeks)... this round will last 2 weeks at higher concentrations. She is also still receiving steroids through breathing treatments and then Albuterol breathing treatments as needed too. By all appearances, she is feeling better. But the medications she is on makes her wired and very hyper, so it is hard to get a good reading on what is going on. Right now, she is happily playing dress up and prancing around like a princess. I don't hear any wheezing and she hasn't been coughing. But it tends to set in towards the end of the day.

Since she has missed almost 2 months of preschool from all this pnemonia/asthma/bronchitis difficulty, we have decided to pull her out completely. I think it is ridiculous to keep paying tuition when she can't go. The doctor encouraged me to keep her home and out of the cold, so we are just withdrawing her. As a result, I'm scrambling to reschedule my life a little bit. I've totally redone my work schedule to allow my mornings to be free, where I used to work about an hour in the mornings while Walker did an activity nearby. Now, I will do my writing during late afternoon and at night. In the mornings, we are going to do some homeschooling. I'm converting the playroom to a school room and we will do some fun preschool appropriate activities every morning. I'm baby proofing up there too so Sophie can hang out with the big kids and have a few toys of her own when she gets bigger. Who knows... she might have a little play mate by the time she is moving around!

Speaking of that, our first adoption meeting is Tuesday night. We're excited and nervous. I cried last night reading the statistics about children who need homes. God is pulling at my heart constantly about it all.

One other thing... I need some help from all you crafty ladies who read along. I mentioned I have a new sewing machine and I am looking for some ideas for projects to start on. If you know of a great sewing project, let me know! Links are welcome too! :)

That's all for now. There is laundry to fold, lunch to make, toddlers to chase, and a baby to feed. And apparently there is now Diet Dr. Pepper to mop up. Thanks, Walker.

Be blessed,

I'll be praying for you. As a homeschooling mom, don't stress too much, this is a time of very, very basic classic education. Most of all praying for your litte girs healing.

Good luck Amber. IF you want an easy preschool program already written, check out: http://www.hubbardscupboard.org/index.html

She's done all the work and her lessons are easy to follow. My friend now uses her curriculum in her day home. Everyone enjoys the activities.

We are going through the same thing in my house - round 2 of meds over here. Only they are for my husband. This course of meds is for 2 weeks. I hope it's long enough to keep his lungs happy. I hope your little one is feeling better soon!

I don't think you asked for it but here is a neat link for preschool stuff http://totallytots.blogspot.com/

and sewing stuff is everywhere! :) Are you wanting to sew clothes or things? I love the patterns that are found at sewsensible.net
for a wider array of craftiness I like http://mycraftysideforyou.blogspot.com/

Have fun with your new sewing machine! Make sure you post your creations! :)
